The Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board has launched an optional survey of social workers through July 18, 2025, to collect feedback on issues relevant to the public protection of the Board and the values of the social work profession, such as areas where practitioners appeared to need more education or training, negative issues involved with supervision, utilization of remote services, use of artificial intelligence, and other topics. Also, the BSRB is seeking to better understand a changing workforce by collecting information on practitioners providing in-person services or remote services, reasons why practitioners may not be seeking a higher level of license, and projections on changes to the workforce in future years. Participation in the survey is optional and responses are anonymous, but all feedback provided will be helpful to assist the work of the Board and the Social Work Advisory Committee as future changes to statutes and regulations are considered. Surveys were sent to social work licensees on June 17, 2025.
After the conclusion of the survey, a report summarizing the survey responses will be drafted and made available on the BSRB website (ksbsrb.ks.gov) on the Publications page. Similar survey questions have been sent to individuals licensed in the six other professions regulated by the Board. In addition to drafting a separate summary report for the survey responses for each profession, staff members of the BSRB will draft a comparison report which will include analysis of similar questions and responses by BSRB licensees across the seven professions regulated by the Board.
