On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Social Work Multi-State Compact Commission will hold a meeting which includes a portion of time to consider comments on proposed rules naming the ASWB licensing examinations as the qualifying national exam for each of the regulated multistate licenses.

The draft rule language is available for review on the Social Work Licensure Compact website.

Public Comment Information

If you would like to provide public comment on the proposed rules, please follow the instructions provided on the Compact website.

• Deadline to sign up: No later than September 2 at 1:00 p.m. ET (48 hours before the hearing).
• How to sign up: Email socialworkcompact@csg.org with the subject line “Public Comment Request.”
• Include in your request: Your name, the rule you are commenting on, and whether your comments will be verbal, written, or both.
• Time limit: Verbal comments are limited to two minutes.
